Since 2017, Alison has run True Places Counseling, a bilingual ASL/English clinical practice serving d/Deaf, DeafDisabled, hard-of-hearing, and disability communities. Her clinical work centers trauma, with training in EMDR and DBT, and she offers EMDR in ASL through telehealth.

The practice is woman-owned and DeafDisabled-owned. Her clinical work shapes her scholarship and teaching, and the reverse is true as well.
